A former shepherd's cottage with a four poster bed and multi fuel stove on a working farm in Northumberland National Park,
Oak Cottage is a former shepherd’s cottage on a working sheep farm in Northumberland National Park, enjoying panoramic views across Whitelee Fell National Nature Reserve. Renovated to a high standard while retaining plenty of original character, it makes an excellent base for exploring the area.
Inside, the cottage has beamed ceilings, an inglenook fireplace housing a multi-fuel stove, a four-poster bed, and modern bathroom with power shower, creating a warm and comfortable retreat. Wildlife cameras connected to the cottage TV allow guests to watch barn owls, badgers and other local wildlife from the comfort of the living room.
Surrounded by open countryside, the area is ideal for walking and wildlife spotting. The cottage is well placed for visiting Hadrian's Wall, Lindisfarne, Alnwick Castle, Kielder Forest Park and the Scottish Borders. Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh are both within easy driving distance, while shops and local amenities can be found in Otterburn and Jedburgh, around 15 minutes away.
