Gare Barn is a styling barn conversion set on a working farm within one of Cornwall’s largest private estates, notable for growing Britain’s only tea plantation. Surrounded by open countryside, it offers a peaceful setting for a family or group of friends with far-reaching rural views.
The accommodation is arranged in reverse level to make the most of its outlook. Entry is via a spacious slate-floored hallway on the ground floor, with stairs leading to an impressive open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area above with a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams to enhance the sense of space and light. The country-style kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, well suited to relaxed self-catering, while generous dining table provides ample room for gathering together. The sitting area centres around a contemporary cylindrical wood burner, with plenty of comfortable seating and doors opening out to the garden and surrounding views.
On the ground floor are three thoughtfully designed bedrooms, each finished in calm, tones with crisp Egyptian cotton bedding to ensure a restful stay. Two of the bedrooms open directly onto the garden, allowing fresh air and morning light to filter in.
Outside, two large enclosed lawned gardens offer plenty of space, including for dogs. A terrace with dining furniture and barbecue is an ideal setting for long al fresco meals or evening drinks as the sun sets over the fields.
Several pretty villages lie nearby, including Ruan Lanihorne, Tregony, Probus and Tresillian, each with local shops and traditional pubs. Gare Barn is also well positioned for exploring many of Cornwall’s most popular destinations.
